Our vision is to reduce the numbers of people suffering chronic disease, (80 percent of which is preventable), by 20 percent in the next 5 years—one client at a time.

Established in 1981, The Cooper Medical Spa in Farmington Hills, Mich., provides the link to health in a resort setting. These include numerous physical and massage therapy-techniques, spa services, self-help classes and alternative therapeutic approaches to well-being. Your visit and treatment can also benefit from hydrotherapy, including Jacuzzi, sauna, and a therapeutic heated pool with water resistance for more energetic work-outs. Cooper Center stands out among the numerous facilities that have recently appeared because we have one office center dedicated to health. This helps to ensure controlled quality service.

Dr. Elaine Cooper Dr. Elaine Cooper, DPT, MT

Cooper Center was conceived after many visits to different medical spas in the United States, Europe and Asia. It was designed by Dr. Elaine Cooper and an architect who had studied Asian architecture. Cooper Center was built with the intent to have a place that would create a feeling of peace, calm and wellness, and one that would also produce strength and lasting endurance.

From the walking path near the woods, to the waterfall in the pond, with places outdoors to meditate, the sauna, the whirlpool , the therapeuitic pool, the private treatment rooms and the gym that is open to the outdoors--All of these fall in line with the words of the architect, Richard Neutra..."don't ever compromise excellence for mediocrity." The Cooper Center spared no design consideration to make your visit a complete experience. There is no other place like it.

The Importance of Tai Chi

Developing energy and connecting the mind and body is done using the ancient Chinese practice of Tai Chi. Learn to develop a peaceful balance between your mind and body. The Chinese philosophy is to prevent disease rather than trying to cure it when it occurs, therefore they believe that ongoing Tai Chi practice is an effective way of keeping disease at bay. Through the practice of Tai Chi, you will begin to feel more focused and calm, and gain higher energy.
